How to make a salty dough for crafts?
Salted dough is absolutely safe and very convenient material for hand-made articles. You can prepare it in different ways.
Recipes for cooking dough for modeling
We bring to your attention several successful variants of the test for crafts, choose for yourself the most suitable for you.
- Recipe 1. Mix 2 cups of wheat flour, 2 cups of salt, 1 teaspoon of dry wallpaper paste and 1 glass of water.
- Recipe 2. Mix 300 gr of wheat flour, 100 g of rye flour, 400 g of salt, 250 ml of water. If you cook a salty dough for crafts made from rye flour, then the crafts will have an interesting brownish tinge.
- Recipe 3. Mix 2 cups of wheat flour, 1 glass of Extra salt, ¾ cup of water.
In all cases, first mix the dry ingredients, and then pour water in a thin trickle, carefully stirring the mass until an elastic consistency is obtained.
Tips for making dough
- Remember that the salted dough is always made for dummies and not too thick (so as not to crumble), but not too liquid (not to stick to your hands).
- It is not necessary to store such material for a long time, as it will acquire an ugly grayish shade.
- The glue can also not be added, but it will give the mass greater elasticity. Before adding the glue can be diluted in a small amount of water, but you can and simply mix with other dry ingredients.
- To make a good salted dough, for craftingit is better to use either wheat flour or a mixture of wheat and rye flour. From one rye flour to prepare weight it is not necessary - it will leave too hard and inconvenient for work.
- Store unused mixture for modeling one to two days and only in a cool place (preferably in the refrigerator). To do this, select a closing container so that the mass does not dry.
- Note that a dough made of a mixture of rye and wheat flour may require more work than a dough made with wheat flour only. So always do more of such a test.
