How to draw a horse in stages?

A horse is a wonderful animal, fascinating with its grace and beauty. Knowing the basic methods of drawing, to depict a horse on paper will not be difficult.

Preparation for work

Before you start creativity,take care that at hand were hard and softer pencils, a good quality eraser and, of course, a sheet of paper. You can also open on your computer or find in the magazine some pictures or drawings of horses - for inspiration.

Please note that we will stage the horse in pencil step by step. The basic outlines of the figure will be executed first, then we will detail the picture and, at the end, we will deal with the imposition of shadows and shading.

Drawing a horse: step by step instructions

Uncomplicated geometric figures and lines will help us to create the basis of the trunk of the horse, and therefore we will start our drawing with them.

Draw a few centimeters awayfrom each other two circles: one more (upper part of the trunk), another slightly smaller (the posterior part of the trunk). Connect them together by two lines. From each circle down, lower two lines (legs), dividing them by two points equal parts (the lower part should be slightlyless upper). Mark the hooves at the ends of the lines with triangles. Now from a larger circle on the diagonal, lift the not too long line (neck) and at its end draw a circle (head).
Now we need to draw a horse step by step,drawing on the sketches made. To do this, draw the muzzle of the animal, neck, trunk, legs. If the contours are successful, then we can erase the auxiliary lines.
Dora the horse's tail, eyes and nose on the face, earsand mane. The outline of the work is ready. Can start working with a soft pencil, which we shade the picture, showing the hairline. Do not forget about the distribution of shadows and bright highlights. To do this, imagine a light source that illuminates a horse from one side or the other. If you want to draw a horse for children as a coloring, then leave the silhouette without hatching.
For greater liveliness of the picture, you can draw an animal bridle or even a whole harness.
