How to bookmark a book?

How to bookmark a book yourself

Bookmarks can be made in differenttechniques, using for its manufacture a wide variety of materials. Most often, the bookmarks are made of thick paper or cardboard. In addition, the bookmark can be made from hand-embroidered fabric, satin ribbon or jacquard braid. It can be crocheted, cut from thin plywood, cut out of leather, weaved from beads, or sewed from felt - all ways are impossible and list. The most simple material in the work, of course, is paper. With the manufacture of a bookmark, even a novice master can cope with it.

How to make a bookmark for a book of paper

To make a bookmark, you will need:

• thin white cardboard;
• scissors;
• PVA glue;
• hole puncher;
• knife;
• a satin slim cord with a length of 40 cm;
• two small beautiful beads with a hole diameter slightly larger than the diameter of the cord;
• ruler and a simple pencil.

Manufacturing procedure

1. On the cardboard on the wrong side drawrectangle length 15 and width 10 centimeters. Draw on it a longitudinal center line - it will divide the rectangle into two strips five centimeters wide.
2. To this line, attach a ruler and along it with effort drag the blunt side of the blade of the knife - this will be the fold line.
3. Cut out the rectangle.
4. On the front side, decorate it as you wish - paste the application of colored paper, draw a bright picture with ink, write hieroglyphics, etc.
5. Fold the rectangle along the length (the line will help to make it smooth).
6. Cover the wrong side of the cardboard with a thin layer of glue and fold the tab.
7. Press it with the palm of your hand, then put it under the press until it dries completely.
8. Leave the top edge of the tab 1 cm and in the center of this line with a hole punch make a neat hole.
9. Pull the both ends of the cord into it, thread them into the loop on the other side and tighten the cord.
10. At the ends of the cord, put on the beads and fix them with nodules.

How to make a bookmark from felt

To make a bookmark, you will need:

• two squares of colored felt (or fleece) measuring 10 x 10 centimeters;
• thread of a floss;
• some beads and beads;
• decorative rope length 35 cm;
• a little cotton wool or sintepon;
• scissors and a needle.

Manufacturing

1. From the first piece of felt, cut out two rectangles with a length of 6 and a width of 4 cm.
2. On each of them in the center, embroider a small flower, decorate it with beads and beads.
3. Fold the details with the wrong side, in the middle of the short part of the workpiece, put the end of the rope and start from this place to sew the parts, by laying on the edge of the workpiece a decorative chain stitch.
4. When the rectangle is almost sheathed, inside it lay a little cotton wool and finish the seam. As a result, you get a nice convex bag, hanging on the end of the string.
5. Similarly, decorate the other end of the rope. If desired, you can sew stitches or hearts instead of rectangles. They can be made in different colors and different sizes.
