Before you tell me how to hand a train ticket, let's look at the basic concepts, they will help you to understand other important aspects of this topic (namely, refunding money for a given ticket).

  • The fare is what you pay in general. The cost of travel from the cost of a reserved seat and the cost of a ticket is added.
  • The cost of a reserved seat is the amount for a sleeper in a car. You will see it in the ticket next to its value.
  • The cost of the ticket is the amount for the railway transportation. Find it in the first line on the ticket form.

Return ticket: where and how

Now let's move on to how to hand a train ticket, where and what is needed for this.

With a ticket and a document proving your identity, go to any of the train stations. You give all the cashiers, say that you need to pass this ticket.

If you rent a ticket for someone other than an identity document, you need a notarized power of attorney.

If you need to hand in train tickets for several passengers, personal documents of each of these passengers are also provided.

Remember that not just anypersonal identification document, and the one used when buying a ticket, that is, the requisites specified in the tickets and in the documents (yours and (or) those for whom you are giving the tickets) must coincide.

For the return of the ticket from the passenger, a commission is charged (about 62 rubles, although the cost varies).

Do not return to the passenger at the return of the ticket commissions and other charges (not including insurance fees).

Refunds for tickets: notes

Now we need the very concepts of value that were indicated at the beginning of the article. The amount for the returned ticket depends on how long (relative to the departure of the train) you have given the ticket.

The domestic message (that is, the ticket was intended for a trip inside the country) is represented by the following return value scheme:

  • Before the departure of the train more than eight hours, you hand over the ticket - you will return the full fare (see above).
  • Passing the ticket in the range of 8 to 2 hours before the departure of the train - you will receive the full cost of the ticket and half (50%) of the cost of the reserved seat.
  • And, if you take the ticket between 2 hours before departure and up to 12 hours after departure, then only the full cost of the ticket will be returned to you.
