However, how to determine the size of a child who grows literally by leaps and bounds? Let's try to figure it out together.

Clothing size

The system of the sizes of children's clothes considerably differs from the adult. There are four basic approaches to choosing the size of clothes for a child.

According to the age

This gradation is especially convenient to use for selecting clothes quite small

children of preschool age. Since it is impossible to measure the growth, weight and parameters of a baby every month, especially in the first years of his life, when the baby grows most intensively, clothing manufacturers have come up with the idea of writing on labels, at what age this particular thing is calculated.

It should be borne in mind that the older the childbecomes, the greater the error in such calculations. For example, if your child is a little behind or, on the contrary, ahead of his peers in development. But in most cases this system is very convenient.

By growth

The second option is to determine the size of clotheschild, based on his growth. While in adult sizes of clothing, parameters such as chest girth, waist and hips are of more importance, in children's clothing, the growth is taken as the basis.

Manufacturers of clothing, again relying onthe average statistical data, made up a ruler of sizes, proceeding from the fact that for a certain growth in boys and girls the figure will be composed in a certain way. Here, too, there may be some inconsistencies: your child may slightly exceed, or, conversely, not reach the standard parameters of a child's figure or even have a non-standard figure. However, this method of determining children's clothing, in general, is more accurate than the definition of age.

By weight

Such a system for determining the appropriate sizeclothes suitable only for toddlers. Fundamentally, it differs little from the previous two, but the weight of the baby is used as the key parameter here.

According to the table

If you are still ready to arm with a centimeter tape and start measuring your child, then use this table. By measuring the required parameter, you can select the desired size by the values.

Shoe size

Parents very often make the mistake of tryingdetermine the size of the child's shoes, attaching the sole to his foot. This approach is fundamentally wrong, since the size of the inner insole can differ significantly from the size of the sole.

To correctly determine the size of shoes for a child, you need:

Measure the length of his foot from the thumb to the most protruding point of the heel.
Add about 10 mm, so that the leg in the boot feels free.

It is best to ask the child to put a foot ona sheet of paper, describe the outline of his foot and measure the length of the foot according to the drawing, and not on the weight. When a child is standing, his foot slightly increases in size under the weight of his own body. If you measure the size of the foot by weight, the shoes acquired as a result of such measurements will slightly press.

Russian and European system of shoes sizesslightly different, so to determine the Russian shoe size is used metric system, and for European - bar-system (one stroke - two-thirds of a centimeter).
