The BIOS is a microprogram written on a chip on the motherboard that is responsible for launching, testing and configuring the equipment at boot.

Ways to restore Bios

If the operating system boots, but the computer does not work correctly, you can try to rebuild the BIOS from DOS or Windows:

  • Download from the Internet from the site of the BIOS manufacturer for your board and the firmware program Phoenix or InsydeH2O.
  • Make sure that the computer is connected to the network through an uninterruptible power supply.
  • If you decide to flip from Windows, you need to disable the Internet, network connection, unload all unnecessary programs and disable the antivirus.

If the computer does not load:

If you experimented with BIOS settings and your computer did not work correctly, you must return the previous settings. How to restore BIOS settings:
