How to reset the router settings?

Sometimes routers fail. They can be for various reasons, and the result may be a router's failure to work, a password request or other malfunction.

Resetting the settings helps in most cases,when problems arise in the operation of the router. At the moment, you can select two types of reset settings - software reset and hardware. Let's figure out how to reset the router settings.

Software reset of the router settings

To carry out software reset of the settings, weYou will need a web-based interface for the router, for example, D-Link, Asus or TP-Link. This is a normal program that is installed on the computer. With it, we can control the router.

1. Open the web interface of the device.
2. In the menu to the right (for most programs) we find a tab that indicates the settings, tools or maintenance.
3. In this tab, we are looking for a button, with which you can reset the router settings to factory settings.
4. We are waiting for the device to reboot.
5. To obtain access, we use standard data (they are indicated on the label of the router).

Hardware reset of the router settings

This procedure is preferable to reset. So:

1. We find the "reset" button on the router itself (on the back panel).
2. This button is protected from accidental clicks, so we'll need a match. We leave the device on and press the button on the button for 20 seconds and then release it.
3. If the reset is successful, all the light bulbs on the router will light up for a few seconds, then turn off again.
