Radish is one of the earliest vegetables, for which it is appreciated by truck farmers. After vitamin winter fasting, radish is very useful.

Preliminary preparation

Before planting radishes, you need to properly process the soil and seeds. The following works are required for the soil:

  1. Acidic soil must be neutralized with lime.
  2. The site, which is planned to occupy the radish, is dug in the autumn.
  3. At the same time fertilizers are put in the soil: 15 grams of potassium salt, 50 - superphosphate and half a bucket of organic per square meter.
  4. When choosing a site, it should be borne in mind that on itgrew before. Are suitable areas for cucumbers, potatoes, tomatoes or beans. Categorically contraindicated as precursors radish, watercress, turnips, horseradish, turnips and cabbage.
  5. Another criterion for selection should be the illumination of the site - radish prefers sunny places, and the snow from them should go off early.
  6. In the spring, before planting the radish, its seeds are immersed in a weak saline solution, sorted by density and soaked in warm water until they come into contact.

Rules of cultivation

If you do not know how to grow a radish correctly, consider the following recommendations.

  • As soon as the shoots appear, the plantation is fertilized with nitrogen at a rate of 20 grams per square.
  • Without regular watering, the vegetable will become bitter and will build up a hard skin. In the heat, water should be given every day.
  • After a drought you can not give too much water sharply - the radish is cracked. Water should be a little bit, batchwise, but often - up to three times a day, until the soil moisture is normalized.
  • To obtain large root crops, plantings must be thinned out. That they are not drowned by weeds, systematic weeding is required.
  • For protection from pests, the plantation is pollinated with tobacco with wood ash.

As you can see, it is easy to grow radish and not too troublesome. But he still requires attention. On the rules of growing other plants, see the Rules of cultivation.
