How to hang a door?

With the problem of hanging doors sooner or laterabsolutely anyone is facing. In most cases, professionals are hired to perform this work. However, if the landlord knows how to properly hang the doors on his own, he can save from 1500 to 3000 rubles only at this stage of repair.
Necessary materials and tools
For the work you need the door itself,consisting of a door leaf and a box, two door hinges, screws, a screwdriver (screwdriver), a drill, a chisel, a kiyanka. It is convenient to use a manual milling cutter to cut the recesses under the hinges.
Loop location
Before you hang the door,from which side of the door leaf (right or left) attach the hinges. It must be taken into account that the door should always open into the room. The location of the loops depends on which side of the door inside the room is the switch. After the person enters the doorway, the switch must be within reach of his hand, but not behind the door. Accordingly, if the switch is to the right of the door, the hinges should be located on the left side of the fabric (and vice versa).
Fastening the hinges to the door leaf
The hinges are mounted to the end of the door at a distance of 20cm from its upper and lower edges. The distance is measured with a ruler, marks are made with a knife, an awl or a pencil. Then, on the made mark to the door, hinges are applied (with an axial rod in the direction of opening the door) and their outline is outlined. The edge of the hinge on the side of the rod and the edge of the door must completely coincide with each other. The contour of the loop is delimited by an awl or knife.
The next step is to do the deepeningunder the loops along the outlined contour. The operation can be performed by a manual milling machine (which is more accurate and faster) or with a chisel and a kayak. The depth of the notch must be exactly equal to the thickness of the loops. After this stage is completed, the loops are placed in the recesses with some effort. The surface of the hinges and the end of the door make up one plane. The axial hinge pin abuts against the side cut of the door and runs parallel to it. Only if these rules are observed, there will be no crevices between the door and the box. The door will open easily and without distortion.
The hinges are fastened to the door using self-tapping screws. To prevent the wood from breaking and cracking, the holes for the screws are pre-drilled with a drill. The diameter of the drill must be less than the diameter of the screws. For screwing screws use a screwdriver or a conventional screwdriver.
Mounting the hinges to the box
The next step is to transfer the dimensions of the loop to the box. To do this, close the door leaf with the attached hinges to the side frame of the box and transfer the dimensions of the loops to the stand using a pencil or an awl. For the layman, this operation is more convenient to do before installing the box in the doorway. Otherwise, attach the door to the box and correctly transfer the dimensions will be obtained only with the help of a partner. If the box is not yet installed and is in disassembled condition, it is easy to work with only one side pillar.
Then again perform the operation of contour outline contouring, making a recess and mounting holes for screws, but already on the side of the box.
Hanging doors
Before you hang the door on the hinges, you need tofirst install the door frame in the opening. After installing the box in the opening, the door is applied with loops into the prepared grooves and screwed with screws using a screwdriver.
If the door is creaking when opened, the hinge must be lubricated with engine oil.
