How to lay vapor barrier?

Wooden structures need protection fromexcessive humidity. Let's consider in detail how to properly install the vapor barrier. Place it on a pre-prepared floor, using the necessary materials:

  • film insulation;
  • a special adhesive tape;
  • building stapler.

Put the vapor barrier on the preparedfloor. The material is overlapped and fixed with adhesive tape. For maximum reliability, the connection points are pierced by a stapler. After all the manipulations should be a single sheet of vapor barrier, which has no defects and flaws.

On top of this layer, heat insulation materials are laid. This can be mineral wool, polystyrene and expanded polystyrene.

Also as a vapor barrier can be useda two-layer film which is turned by a smooth side to a heat-insulating material. When mounting foil film, use aluminum tape to glue the joints.

Another option of vapor barrier is the use of liquid rubber, which is applied to the dry floor. After drying, the rubber coating completely repeats the surface relief.

Steam insulation of walls and ceiling

Moisture protection of the ceiling and walls should be carried out attwo-way membranes and films. They are laid on a pre-treated surface, all elements of which must be carefully sealed and insulated. For vapor barrier you will need:

  • double-sided film;
  • glue;
  • waterproof tape;
  • wooden slats;
  • building scotch;
  • a stapler.

Lay the vapor barrier need to overlap. It is placed between the insulation layer and the room. To fix the vapor barrier sheets, use glue or a construction stapler. The joints are sealed with a waterproof tape, if necessary, wooden plates are used.
